企画書・概要 (Abstract of Project Proposal)

The purpose of this study is to digest the positive/negative aspects of "ikumen", and clarify the impact of "ikumen" boom on the concept of fatherliness. To achieve these goals, we will conduct following three surveys in this study: a literature review of the historical information about "ikumen", a literature review of quantitative study regarding living condition and working environment among Japanese fathers, and a questionnaire survey to determine the current situation among families raising young children. From these results, we expect to reveal the perception of fatherliness among modern couple in Japan, and to refer to social environment which these couple can achieve their ideal model of father. In particular, we will attempt to show the findings of this study to the general public, not only experts. Therefore, we wish to use this study as an oppotunity for Japanese people to consider what is the ideal paternal behavior, and which working environment should be improved.
