企画書・概要 (Abstract of Project Proposal)

To overcome the public health challenges facing Asia, it’s imperative that we foster and promote collaboration among young people who have obtained global perspectives. The spread of COVID-19 around the world has taught us that cross-cutting efforts that surpass national boundaries and respective fields must be made and new healthcare and social-systems must be developed if we’re to be ready for future pandemics. Ensuring travel and border health will be the key to the success of such measures. However, the current circumstances pose a significantly greater threat to migrants in disadvantageous socioeconomic conditions. People from neighboring countries visit or move to major metropolitans like Bangkok and Tokyo and they face shared issues related to accessing healthcare and information. These issues require urgent measures. The theme of our plan is “Solving Healthcare Problems Related to COVID-19 and Urban Migration.” It aims to tackle these issues by bringing together young people from Japan and Thailand from various backgrounds to build mutual understanding and cooperation through fieldwork and research. While training and developing new human resources who can support society in the future, our plan will generate a concrete proposal for building systems to solve these issues as well as produce specific recommendations.
